Transparent Shadow MapsMaster-ThesisShadow mapping is a class of popular techniques that enable shadow computations for rasterization. There is a vast and increasing body of algorithms that make shadow maps efficient with respect to both performance and quality. Thus, it has successfully been deployed in many applications. However, there are still challenging problems. One of which is the correct treatment of shadows cast from transparent objects. The goal of this thesis is to design and implement an algorithm that generates realistic shadows from transparent objects in real-time on modern graphics hardware using rasterization. Advisor(s) |
