Mesh Deformation Retargeting

Bachelor-Thesis

The deformation of artificial characters such that they match a desired pose is a central problem in the modeling and animation domain. Normally, this time consuming task has to be performed by experienced artists. The goal of this thesis is to automatically transfer given deformations onto arbitrary new models. Therefore, the approach proposed by Robert W. Sumner and Jovan Popović in their paper "Deformation Transfer for Triangle Meshes" should be implemented. Reusing previously modeled deformations in this way, leads to drastic time savings and reduces the required man-power.
