Final Gathering on the GPUBachelor-ThesisFinal Gathering is an algorithm to produce high quality images. While direct light contribution is computed conventionally, indirect lighting is obtained from a certain set of sample points distributed in the scene environment. At each gather point indirect illumination is explicitly determined by rendering the scene using the point as camera origin. Finally, interpolation between the sample points is used to manage with a moderate number of gather points. In oder to improve performance, interim results of gather points can be cached. Moreover, gradient based operations can be taken into account to enhance the interpolation process. Advisor(s) |
